Rest is a necessity.
It’s also, at times, a luxury.
Both when I worked at a church and also as a professional entertainer in Las Vegas, traditional weekends were times I had to work. About the time everyone was saying, “have a great weekend!” I was gearing up for my big work days.
So, I know Friday isn’t “Friday” to everyone.
Also, sometimes life gets to a place where you just need to work more to make ends meet. Maybe you have a second job or need to log some overtime.
But, sometimes…a Friday is a “Friday” and a weekend is a “weekend.”
If that happens to be your lucky situation today, I have a challenge for you:
Rest.
Sleep in.
Do nothing.
Take a nap.
Go for a stroll.
Read a book.
Watch a movie.
Some of us are wired to turn our rest days into busy days.
I just have a hunch a few of you needed to hear this today…
Rest well this weekend.
You deserve it.
And you need it.
True rest after hard work is a resource we often ignore.
