What Is This Again?
You're subscribed to Called For Adventure. This is what it's all about...
Hi friends! I’ve picked up a lot of new subscribers this week who came over from my new Substack where I am helping people specifically with issues around deconstructing their faith. I’m thinking some of you may not know you signed up for two different things. :)
And…some of you have been here for over a year now! So we are due for a refresher anyway.
What Is Called For Adventure?
Called For Adventure is about helping you find your life calling, say yes to your next adventure, and make a plan to get there.
And to do that, you have to see your life as a story.
That’s what saved me.
A little over a year ago, I burned out.
Not the kind of burnout you fix with a nap or a long weekend. The kind where you realize you’ve come to the end of something—and you don’t know what’s next.
I had spent years leading teams, building platforms, creating things that mattered.
But one day, I looked up and couldn’t ignore the truth:
The story I was living wasn’t mine anymore.
That’s when my previous chapter ended and Called For Adventure began.
So what happens here?
We talk about what it means to live a life of intention, bravery, and reinvention.
We explore story structure—because sometimes understanding the arc helps you trust the moment you’re in.
We talk about things like the threshold, the dragons, the shadows, and the call—not as metaphors, but as real things showing up in your real life.
We ask what to do when you realize Act Three of a story is over—and you’re not sure what the next Act One looks like.
We remind each other that getting unstuck doesn’t always mean knowing where you’re going. Sometimes it just means admitting, “this isn’t it.”
This may not be for everyone.
This is for people who feel stuck, or restless or feel a shift happening.
People who are outgrowing a version of themselves. People who are quietly (or loudly) wondering, “What now?”
It’s for people who have spent years being who they were supposed to be—
and are finally ready to figure out who they actually are.
It’s not a place for hype or hustle or hollow motivation.
It’s for people who want to live a better story—and who are ready to do the deep work it takes to begin again.
Welcome (or welcome back) to Called For Adventure.
Over the last year I’ve written more than 100 articles here. They are all available for you to search by keywords on the homepage. This content is and will always be free.
There is an option to pay if and when you feel this content and my work has demonstrated value to you.
You can also join the 1:1 Coaching Level as a paid subscriber. This is for those of you who want to do a full one-on-one Zoom coaching session with me to help you find your life calling and make a plan to get there.
But, that’s not for all of you.
We can make a ton of progress together no matter what.
Let’s go write your next chapter.
Oh, yeah. If you’re interested in my new Substack around spiritual deconstruction just DM me or email joe@joeboyd.net and I will send you the link.
